Scanned material needs to meet the following simple requirements for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and further compression by Adobe Capture ...
- One file per page (Warning TIFF format supports multi-page files), sequentially numbered please
- TIFF, GIF, or JPEG formats are all OK
- 8-Bit grayscale is best for non-color documents, and color is obviously best for color documents
- 300 or 600 Dots Per Inch (Which allows accurate OCR, and will be reduced in DPI with post processing to reduce PDF file sizes). Scans that are done in 200 or 150 dpi do not allow good OCR.
